Russia set to pursue port expansion

RUSSIA is determined to go ahead with a raft of port projects to increase cargo handling capacity despite the current adverse economic conditions.

Outlining the scale of the projects, Rosmorport deputy general director Igor Artemiev said the agency had drawn up plans to expand capacity at several of Russia’s leading facilities, including Murmansk, the Caucasus and Novorossiysk.
