Hi-tech cold store boosts Cape Town

SOUTH Africa’s Transnet Port Terminals has opened a Rand45m (US$6.22m) cold storage facility at the Cape Town Multipurpose Terminal.

Transnet Port Terminals operating officer Nosipho Damasane said that the terminal was a “solution to the outdated cold stores in the fruit export logistics chain, many of which are being withdrawn from service”.
