Coastal operators welcome hubbing
FOR THE coastal shipping sector, the debate about port rationalisation and hub-and-spoke systems is largely a case of “we’ve painted the picture a thousand times”.
Pacifica Shipping chief executive Rod Grout, whose company has consistently put up money for investment in coastal shipping services, already contributes to a feeder service with two container vessels linking seven New Zealand ports.
