Toll snaps up NZ freight forwarder

TOLL Group has made good on managing director Paul Little’s repeated pledges to make acquisitions, buying leading New Zealand freight forwarder Express Logistics Group (ELG). It was said last week that it had paid about $50m.

The purchase followed the buy-out of Japanese logistics provider and express freight operator Footwork Express earlier in the month.
ELG, which mainly carries clothes and footwear imports and exports, has 12 freight forwarding branches in Australia, NZ and Los Angeles.
