Magellan paid a $5m performance bond to the Western Australian Government ahead of the lead exports process, the company said.
The WA Government gave the mining company final clearance for the sealed shipment process on August 13.
Magellan planned to load two tonne sealed bags of lead carbonate concentrate into secured steel containers before moving them by road to Leonora for transportation by rail to the port of Fremantle.
The process was tested at the port of Esperance earlier this year with the movement of 8,000 tonnes of dry stockpile, Magellan said.
Magellan, a subsidiary of Canada's Ivernia, said it planned to begin exporting the lead between the end of September and early October.
