Car ferry banned from leaving French port
FRENCH port state inspectors have banned a 40-year-old car ferry from leaving the port of Brest on the grounds that the crew are not competent to take charge of the vessel.
The 1970-built, 1,908 gt Pentalina B has been at the centre of controversy in France, where an environmental organisation has cited it as an example of the offloading of old European ferries to developing countries.
