Fuel tax relief welcomed by national truck body
THE AUSTRALIAN Trucking Association (ATA) has welcomed a proposed change to the formula used to calculate the amount of fuel tax and registration fees the trucking industry is charged.
The recommendation by the National Transport Commission (NTC) to amend the fee structure to 4.2% from the current 9.7% would save the industry, which currently pays about $2bn in fuel tax and registration fees, about $116m in 2010/11, ATA chairman...
