Queensland Gas signs 20-year LNG deal with China

QUEENSLAND Gas Co (QGC) has secured a contract to supply China National Offshore Oil Corporation with 3.6mtpa of liquefied natural gas from its Curtis Island facility for a period of 20 years.

The $60bn deal was heralded by Queensland premier Anna Bligh as the biggest of its type in the world.
Frank Champan, chief executive of QGC parent BG Group, said the LNG would be supplied by its Queensland Curtis LNG operation...
