Boxes peak early in US as volumes rise 15%

CONTAINER shipping’s peak season may have arrived early this year in the US trades, with import volumes likely to slacken offer after spiking in July.
Overall, inbound container traffic through US ports is expected to be up by 15% this year compared with last, but will still lag behind 2008 levels.
Throughput is forecast to reach around 14.5m teu in 2010 after bouncing back...
