Outlook still uncertain for dry bulk, says UK bank
LLOYDS Banking Group, the partially state-owned UK bank, has warned that global shipping markets will remain “challenging” in the second half of the year.
“In the specialist finance portfolios, global shipping markets, especially the dry bulk and container sectors, experienced considerable pressure during 2009, leading to higher impairment levels,” the bank reported in its first-half year results.
