Shipping lines lose out as freight forwarders grab market share

FREIGHT forwarders appear to be grabbing market share from the container lines, with industry analysts predicting that the trend will continue.

European logistics operators Panalpina and Deutsche Post DHL last week issued half-year results that claimed gains in ocean freight volumes above the market average, following similar claims from Switzerland-based Kuehne & Nagel in July.
