Road ahead improving for car carrier fleet
SIGNS have emerged that market conditions for the global fleet of 667 pure car carriers are tracking back to normal, after the protracted slump of 2009.
Last year, global car carrier monthly sailings fell by as much as 35% and record numbers of vessels were placed in lay-up, as demand plunged for new cars imported from manufacturing centres in Asia, North America and Europe.
