Cosco net profit soars 85%
STRONGER performance in shipbuilding as well as improved fortunes in its dry bulk shipping business led Singapore-listed Cosco Corp to post an 85% year-on-year increase in net profit to S$68.4m (US$50.6m) in the second quarter this year.
Cosco Corp said told the Singapore exchange that its turnover for the second quarter rose 34% to S$962.5m from S$718.5m last year.
This improvement brought the company’s first-half net profit to S$100.1m, up 43% against S$70.2m in the same period...
