Equipment imports dip to new low

SHIPMENTS of heavy machinery to Australia fell to the lowest level in four months as a stall in infrastructure projects weighs on demand for road-making equipment.

Import volumes in June fell to 1710 units in June from 2564 units in May, a level not seen since the 1242 units recorded in February, the Skelton Sherborne Shipping Index showed.
