First quarter fall in global trade growth
GROWTH in global trade declined in the first quarter of this year, according to a new report by Capgemini Consulting, despite the unexpected strength of global container trades.
While global trade, including both goods and services, grew by 8.5% in the last quarter of 2009, that growth rate had fallen back to 5% in the first quarter of this year.
