Blackwater coal line cut as PN train derails
It could take until the weekend to re-open a section of track in Queensland's Blackwater coal chain south-west of Rockhampton following a derailment in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A Pacific National coal train locomotive and several wagons derailed between Wycarbah and Warren, about 130 km north-west of the port of Gladstone.
A company spokeswoman the train drivers were not injured in the incident, which occurred in "extreme weather conditions" which had earlier forced the closure of nearby ports.
Initial assessments have been delayed by bad weather.
Pacific National said it will conduct a full and thorough investigation.
