Offshore support dispute leaves bitter aftertaste with adversary
TWO MAJOR maritime unions took up cudgels last week. Just as the heat started to go out of the Maritime Union of Australia’s (MUA) offshore support industrial action after an understanding was reached with Total Marine Services, the Australian Institute of Marine and Power Engineers (AIMPE) took it to task over maritime militancy.
AIMPE federal president Terry Snee said three months of industrial action in the offshore support sector had put cabotage reform in jeopardy.
