AN increasing number of ships were forced to wait at the port of Gladstone last week after a derailed train shutdown part of the 994-kilometre Blackwater rail system in Queensland.
Coal supply was severely disrupted when Queensland Rail (QR) closed off a section of the Blackwater system south-west of Rockhampton.
There were 19 ships outside the port and 2.2m tonnes of coal on the ground on Friday last week...
