Europe-Australia box trade December jump
CONTAINER volumes heading into Australia from Europe have rocketed 23.8% in the first positive sign for the troubled trade since 2007.
European Liner Affairs Association (ELAA) volume estimates show 45,110 teu headed south into the Australia/Oceania region in December, up from 36,425 teu in December 2008.
The result was the highest import level in the trade since the global financial crisis...
