LME courts Baltic in bid to form new exchange
THE LONDON Metal Exchange (LME) has written to the Baltic Exchange with a controversial proposal that the two companies establish a joint venture exchange to trade forward freight agreements.
The LME has proposed the creation of a new regulated exchange to “bring transparency, efficiency and a robust technology platform to the dry bulk FFA market, in collaboration and cooperation with all freight market participants”.
