Halting PierPass would be a mistake, says Widdows
NEPTUNE Orient Lines chief executive Ron Widdows has defended the PierPass system following questions about whether its cost could still be justified.
PierPass was introduced in Los Angeles and Long Beach in 2005 in an effort to ease congestion by encouraging haulage companies to deliver or collect containers at night or the weekend rather than during busy daylight hours.
