Somalia remains piracy hotspot as attacks rise

Global piracy was up for the third year in a row as experts warn the true figure could be even higher, reports David Osler

In the period under consideration, 153 vessels were boarded, 49 vessels were hijacked, 84 attempted attacks took place and 120 vessels were fired on.
A total of 1,052 crew were taken hostage.
