Egypt to seek finance for multimodal tunnel
EGYPT is planning a US$1bn tunnel under the Suez Canal, connecting Port Said to its eastern section and will begin seeking finance as soon as the designs for the project are completed.
The multimodal tunnel will be built 19 km south of the canal’s northern entrance and will include one railway passage and two dedicated car passageways.
