Surge boosts Melbourne numbers

CONTAINER trade at the Port of Melbourne rose 3.7% to 2.2m teu in the 2009/10 financial year, according to the port’s management reports.
Port of Melbourne Corporation said the rise followed by a strong trade surge in the second half of the financial year.
Total trade was reported to have risen by 5.5% to 75.4 million revenue tonnes, with a strong container trade...
