Thoresen Thai buys supramax
NOT LONG after analysts warned that it needed to pick up the pace in its fleet replenishment program, Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA) has announced the purchase of a secondhand supramax bulk carrier for US$34.5m from Smart Shipmanagement of the Marshall Islands.
The ship’s beneficial owner is Greece’s Meadway Shipping and Trading.
The vessel was built by China’s Qingshan Shipyard.
Thoresen Shipping Singapore (TSS), the company’s wholly-owned unit, will buy the 2010-built, 57,015 dwt Teo as part of the company’s fleet...
