Big box lift from restock volumes
CONTAINER shipping is about to smash records for the second quarter of the year and is on track for further growth as restocking continues to underpin cargo volumes.
Macquarie’s global container index, calculated from the aggregation of volumes handled by almost 200 ports in 58 countries, reached an all-time high of 195 in May, based on January 2003 equalling 100.
