CANSI warns of threats to China yards
THE CHINA Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) warned an increase in steel prices, the appreciation of the yuan and climbing labour costs pose a threat to China’s shipbuilding industry.
Even so, the association predicted completion volumes would see growth this year and new orders were expected to reach between 30m dwt and 40m dwt in 2010, from 26m dwt last year.
