The latest release of Melbourne-based ship technology group OMC International's under keel clearance system will be used in the Torres Strait, the group said yesterday.
OMC said the Australian Maritime Safety Authority had signed-off to use the next generation Dynamic Under Keel Clearance product, with a first stage of implementation due by March 2011.
OMC's technology is already in use in several Australian and overseas ports.
