Kooragang coal capacity increase gets the nod

THE NEW South Wales planning department has approved Newcastle’s largest export facility, the Kooragang Coal Terminal, to operate at 120mtpa.

The move lifts approved capacity at the Port Waratah Coal Services terminal from 77mtpa and takes total approved capacity to 211mtpa.
It comes as Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group’s neighbouring terminal continues to work at lifting its throughput rate to 33mtpa...
