Owners protest Panama toll rises
USERS of the Panama Canal have voiced their concerns at plans to raise the cost of transiting the waterway by between 12% and 16% at the start of next year.
Representatives of Japanese shipowners and the principal Latin American economies affected by the proposed changes said they felt the increases were “disproportionate” and “inopportune” at a public meeting in Panama City.
