SAL lifts presence and profile
THE ARRIVAL of the heavy-lift carrier Annegret in Newcastle late last month, complete with a conspicuous deck-load of Svitzer tugs, provided some high visibility for operator Schiffahrtskontor Altes Land GmbH, better known as SAL.
The company’s heavy-lift ships are well-known in Oceania but more likely to be found working in the Stybarrow oil field off Western Australia or NZ’s Pohokura gas field than making profile-lifting calls in main ports.
