UK port traffic shows signs of recovery move

THE SLOWDOWN in UK port throughputs appears to be levelling off, although industry analysts have warned it is too early to speak of a sustained recovery.
UK ports registered a 2010 first quarter decline of 1% in total volumes to 121m tonnes, compared with a 9.5% fall to 508m tonnes during 2009 as a whole, when the global recession started to bite.
