Chinese demand further fuels Port Hedland growth

China’s appetite for iron ore lifted the overall volume of iron ore exported from Port Hedland by almost 7% in February.
Iron ore shipments rose to more than 13m tonnes last month from 12.2m tonnes in February 2009.
China accounted for 67% of the total number, importing 8.7m tonnes, Port Hedland Port Authority figures showed.
