THE STRONG Australian dollar and competition in the country’s key export markets for meat will pose challenges for the industry over the short term.
But over the medium term, Australia is well positioned to supply meat to the Asia region where incomes and population are expected to grow, according to the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE).
