Baltic trial rate aims at paper trades
THE BALTIC Exchange has moved to boost its relevance to the fledgling iron ore swaps market, trialling a new voyage rate assessment on a key iron ore shipping route from India to China.
Since the start of last week, a dollar-per-tonne rate has been derived from the supramax average time charter rate to ship iron ore from east-coast India.
