Oil spill probe looks to clear confusion on legal framework

A LEADING maritime law academic has backed the call by safety authorities for a legal underpinning of Australia’s national oil spill plan.


The call to consider the move is included in a report into the response to last year’s Pacific Adventurer oil spill.
“I do think that the recommendation is sound,” Michael White, adjunct professor at the University of Queensland, said.
