Asia-Europe rates slip after surge

FREIGHT rates on the key Asia-Europe container trade remained under pressure last week.
Another fall in the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index was expected following the previous week’s US$60 decline to US$2,104 per teu in the Shanghai to northern Europe component.
The move comes as carriers begin to reintroduce tonnage onto the route.
