Asian owners’ concern over surge in piracy

PIRACY and the impending ballast water convention are among the top concerns of Asian shipowners.
Meeting in Singapore, representatives from the Asian Shipowners’ Forum expressed “grave concern” about the almost 40% increase in piracy incidents in 2009 compared with the previous year.
