Germany seeks private help for ship finance

A NUMBER of institutional investors are interested in providing fresh money for ailing German shipping companies, the government’s coordinator for the maritime industry Hans-Joachim Otto said.

Speaking after last week’s summit with representatives of Germany’s maritime industry in Berlin, Mr Otto stressed that the government would not provide a special rescue scheme for the country’s shipping companies, ports and shipyards.
