China and India lead way in box recovery
RECOVERY in the container trades is very uneven, with North America and Europe lagging behind while the Indian subcontinent and China lead the way as volumes return to 2008 levels.
Macquarie Equities Research estimates in a new report that global container throughput in the first quarter grew by around 18% compared with the corresponding period in 2009, recovering to 2008 levels.
