New era for Tasmanian rail
THE FIRST chief executive of Tasmanian Railway (TasRail) has been frank about what he and his company faces in turning around rail freight in the state.
Former Pacific National east-west general manager Damien White said his target was to attract 5m tonnes or double the existing level of rail freight annually, out of the 10m tonnes that goes through Tasmania at present.
