Importers urge full border risk rethink
US IMPORTERS have called for a “fundamental change” at US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) by moving to an account-based risk management system for trade compliance.
The suggestion emerged during a US house of representatives hearing on trade enforcement and facilitation, which also touched on the tensions between increased security for maritime containers and the easing of trade flows during an economic slowdown.
