WA to seize land for LNG hub
Western Australia has begun its threatened compulsory acquisition of land for the proposed liquefied natural gas precinct at James Price Point, 60km north of Broome, a key element of the Browse Basin project.
The WA Government wants to see an LNG project, such as this one off Qatar, developed near the Kimberley.
Premier Colin Barnett has intervened because "internal issues within the claimant group" have delayed an agreement with the state and Woodside energy.
