A merchant vessel was yesterday seized by pirates while it was sailing west through the internationally recognised transit corridor through the Gulf of Aden.

Early yesterday morning local time, warships from the international anti-piracy task force, CTF 151, received reports that a pirate skiff was approaching the Malta-flagged Olib G which has a crew of 18.
