Lost documents unlikely to hamper MSC Chitra claims
A MARITIME lawyer says that fears over lost documentation relating to cargo on board the MSC Chitra are unlikely to be an issue in future insurance claims.
Shippers are already beginning to consider their claims after an estimated 200 containers were lost overboard when the 1985-built, 45,798 dwt bulker Khalijia 3 was in collision with Mediterranean Shipping Co boxship MSC Chitra on August 7 outside Mumbai.
