Australia’s federal government will seek tenders from the private sector to design, build and operate the $1.6bn Moorebank freight terminal in south-west Sydney.

Private sector operators for the project will be chosen through an open and competitive tender process managed by a government business enterprise which is yet to be established, Federal transport minister Anthony Albanese said today.
