IMO boss hails progress in greenhouse gas cuts
IMO secretary-general Koji Sekimizu says the adoption last year of mandatory technical measures to cut greenhouse gas emissions from ships was “a really genuine breakthrough”.
Mr Sekimizu told the Natship 12 conference in Melbourne these measures were “the first-ever step for greenhouse gas emission reduction requirement for [an] international industry sector”.
