New port for Cocos Islands improves trade opportunities
Regional Australia minister Simon Crean officially opened the Rumah Baru passenger and freight facility on the Cocos Islands during his recent visit.
Located on an offshore island, approximately 200 metres from the shoreline, the port is connected to the main island by a 210 metre bridge.
