Germany provides MSC Flaminia with refuge

Stricken box ship, MSC Flaminia is to be inspected in UK waters to assess its integrity and safety ahead of being towed up the English Channel to a deep water anchorage in the German Bight.

After being made safe, lightened and undergoing a more thorough assessment, the vessel will be taken to the German port of Wilhelmshaven.

The German-flagged vessel caught fire after a fatal explosion as it sailed east from the US...
