Weaker exports lowers growth forecast
Weaker export growth will likely see Australia’s economy slow before picking up again, according to the Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (BREE).
BREE lowered its forecast for Australia’s real gross domestic product by 0.9 percentage points to 2.9% in 2011-12 due to lower than forecast growth in the last quarter of 2011, its Resources and Energy Quarterly report showed.
